Did You Know?

Did you know that individuals with intellectual disabilities have a much higher risk of dying from COVID-19? An alarming study in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that other than age, having an intellectual disability was the strongest independent risk factor for presenting with a COVID-19 diagnosis and dying from COVID-19. The study concluded that vaccination efforts, screening for COVID-19, and care coordination need to be intensified.

At StationMD, we can treat an individual’s medical concerns and questions from their home setting close to 90% of the time. This means significantly fewer trips to outside medical providers, avoiding disruption, cost, and exposure to COVID-19 for both individuals and those that support them. Individuals are seen and treated in place by a team of doctors specially trained to care for this population, helping them lead independent, healthier, and more productive lives.
