Reports to: Senior Director of Operations

Employment: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary:

The Practice Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational and business functions of the Telehealth Medical Practice (Urgent Care, Behavioral Health, and Primary Care). Develops strategies and processes that contribute to the growth and success of the practice in a rapidly growing organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all areas of daily practice operations including scheduling, payroll, billing, etc.
  • Creates and maintains patient schedules for initial, rescheduled, and follow-up appointments. Monitors flow of patient appointments to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner. Creates and maintains physician schedules.
  • Uploads patient notes in client EHR, monitors and promotes chart completion and documentation quality, etc.
  • Supports and oversees billing, credentialing, and enrollment processes. Maintains working knowledge of insurance plans and billing regulations.
  • Works in conjunction with internal and client nursing staff to ensure timely refilling of prescriptions, prior authorizations, and processing of diagnostic testing results.
  • Maintains knowledge of the telehealth platform, EHR, and related technology, troubleshoots issues, and participates in development and QA processes.
  • Manages implementation of new clients & patients with a high degree of customer service
  • Acts as a resource and manages an active, ongoing process of improving patient, client, and physician satisfaction for all assigned practices. Addresses any questions or concerns in a compassionate and timely fashion.
  • Work closely with Physicians, Chief Medical Officer, and Senior Director of Operations to enhance practice operations and develop and implement business strategies. Facilitates communication and establishes a climate that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Designs and implements workplace procedures. Maintains adherence to existing policies and procedures of the practice and recommends and implements new policies and procedures.
  • Monitors progress toward achievement of yearly operational and financial goals. Provides input for the development of budget and financial goals. Plan for changes in resource requirements including staff, technology, etc. Gathers data and write justifications as requested. Provides reports and data as requested in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • Energy and passion for increasing access to quality healthcare and improving the quality of life for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Minimum 2 years physician practice management experience required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and medical terminology related to the management of physician practices
  • Proven leadership and customer service skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Adaptability and change management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize based on business needs
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data and develop plans for improvement
  • Highly proficient with computers and technology including Zoom and Electronic Health Records
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Overview:

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Full-Stack Software Developer is expected to:

  • Develop application software to support the business of medical care
  • Diagnose, debug, and correct issues as they arise
  • Maintain information tables (users, clients, resources, etc.)
  • Develop monthly reports for each client site and quality review team to run automatically
  • Enhance and improve systems as needed
  • Perform other duties related to application development and those assigned by IT management
  • Participate in IT, Development, and Quality Assurance meetings
  • Write / test / document software
  • Evaluate / recommend third party libraries
  • Integrate third party systems via API
  • Create unit tests for new and existing codes
  • Refactor existing codes
  • Create test harnesses and systems for improving code quality
  • Some night and weekend work may be required for deployments, testing, and support, but these exceptions to the normal work-schedule will be arranged in advance 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field
  • 4 years experience in a professional software development environment (internship experience may be acceptable)
  • Must understand full stack web development, from creating a user interface in HTML to back end business logic
  • Our website is based on the Laravel PHP framework, and familiarity with Laravel/Vue is essential
  • Expertise in SQL and database management systems (MySQL, Oracle, etc)
  • Working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • General knowledge of operating systems including Linux and Windows
  • Basic knowledge of reporting software (Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services) with expertise in at least one software reporting application
  • Good troubleshooting / problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication / written skills 

Salary:

  • Commensurate with experience 

Location:

  • The position will be partly remote until COVID-19 pandemic subsides
  • Corporate office is located in Maplewood, NJ

Requirements: Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice or have emergency medicine experience.  Work a minimum of 20 hours per month.  Must be licensed in one state and must be willing to complete processing for multiple unrestricted medical licenses.  Federal DEA required for prescription of non-narcotics.  Minimal to no malpractice history or Medicaid/Medicare sanctions.  U.S.Citizen or valid Green Card holder
